The first 6,9 kilometers of the double lane highway Eix Diagonal have just been opened between Igualada and Castellfollit del Boix (Anoia). When fully completed it will link Vilanova i la Geltrú with Manresa.
Personally, I am confident that, once completed, this new infrastructure will have a big impact on the flows of business and tourism since it will give the inner parts of Catalonia a direct connection with the coast in Garraf, without having to pass by Barcelona.
